Even more so now they’ve released the chocolate orange version and the white too! </div><div><br></div><div>Well today I’m sharing the white bunny cake jars. My cheesecake jars went down SO unexpectedly well that I thought that cake jars now have to become a thing too... plus the cheesecake needs a bit of a break for a while. </div><div><br></div><div>So before I share the recipe with you I better explain what’s in them starting right from the bottom: a crumbled cake base, vanilla buttercream, a layer of mini eggs, another layer of cake and then buttercream and a white choc bunny on top. </div><div><br></div><div><i>So calling all Malteser bunny lovers, this ones for you...</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Recipe for white Malteser bunny cake jars (makes 3-4): </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Cake:</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•115g unsalted butter</div><div style="text-align: center;">•115g caster sugar </div><div style="text-align: center;">•115g self-raising flour</div><div style="text-align: center;">•2 medium eggs </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1tsp baking powder </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1tsp vanilla extract </div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Middle layer </i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•Cadbury’s mini eggs (or any Easter chocolate of your choice) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Buttercream: </i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•200g unsalted butter </div><div style="text-align: center;">•400g icing sugar </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1tsp vanilla extract </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_6599_f0c1_6273_17c3" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/FISYweoWcV45oI2WkKR1gpdTbTthMGlfueHHJ_IV5iJ_lJBJdLFvi56M1O92g8o" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_2e8d_43cc_3c24_a4e6" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/II2olB3K2Saq6uIB3qVooPnDs9G239-JVy2dwJQ9GPkbgFqd9xUe0WyMx8TjllE" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><b>M E T H O D: </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div>1.) To kick start your cake jars you’ll of course need to make the (cup)cakes. To make life super easy and quick measure out your butter, sugar, flour, eggs and baking powder into the same bowl and then whisk. Once half mixed add the vanilla extract and whisk again. </div><div><br></div><div>2.) This recipe amount should make 12 standard cupcakes, spoon the mix into your cases evenly and bake at (a pre-heated) Gas mark 5 for 20-25 minutes. (You’ll know they’re baked perfectly when a skewer comes out clean).</div><div> </div><div>3.) Once baked and cooled peel out of their cases and crumble up the cake into small/medium crumbs. Once crumbled- <i>you’ll probably use 5 cupcakes to fill 3 jars</i>- spoon into your chosen jars/glasses, <i>mine are empty Nutella jars,</i> and press down carefully. </div><div><br></div><div>4.) Next up, the buttercream... start by whisking your unsalted butter until softened, this is usually easier if your butter is room temperature. Butter softened sift over the icing sugar and add the vanilla extract and whisk again high speed until light, fluffy and pale in colour. </div><div><br></div><div>5.) To pipe the buttercream I used a Wilton 2D nozzle- this one is my absolute favourite. Layer of buttercream completed now is the time to sprinkle over a few mini eggs, and then yet another layer of crumbled cake, and to finish a generous buttercream swirl. </div><div><br></div><div>6.) Cake jar almost finished, it’s decoration time. I sprinkled over mini hearts (Tesco), addd a homemade fondant carrot (you can buy from the supermarket ready made if you prefer though) and of course the star of the show: a white Malteser bunny. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Notes: *Feel free to layer your pots however you please! For example you could add any Easter eggs to the middle instead of mini eggs. </b></div><div><br></div><div><b> *They should last for 2-3 days kept in an airtight container... if they last that long that is. </b></div><div><br></div><div><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I hope that you enjoy as much as I did, such a perfect little treat if you fancy something sweet over Easter/you’re bored and want something to do during lockdown. Start by emptying the tinned peaches into a container along with the juice- no need to drain, and leave to freeze for at least an hour, <i>or if you want to be even more organised, do this the night before you plan on making your mocktails. </i>Also be sure to have lots of ice cubes stocked up at this point too! </div><div><i><br></i></div><div>2.) Next measure out your chilled ‘nosecco’ into a jug and pour into a blender along with the measured sugar cane syrup, and a splash of fresh orange juice. </div><div><br></div><div>3.) Once everything is fully frozen chuck both your frozen peaches and ice cubes into a blender alongside the other ingredients. Blend on full blast in short bursts until it resembles a thick slush consistency. </div><div><br></div><div>4.) Blended to perfection, pour into chilled/frozen champagne/prosecco glasses, and then to finish garnish with a slice of fresh peach, edible gold glitter and a sprig of Rosemary. You could also pour a little more ‘nosecco’ over the top at this stage too if you’d like more of a fizzy kick. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Notes: *If you aren’t a huge slush cocktail fan this time of the year (I find that hard to believe) you could easily swap for the blended Peach Bellini version. I mean, there’s no competition really! So when I noticed that they’re currently on offer in Tesco if you have a club card, you bet they were mine in 0.5 seconds. </div><div><br></div><div>Naturally the cheesecake jar version just <i>had</i> to happen. I didn’t realise that my cheesecake jars would be quite as popular as they are, so it’s a pleasant surprise that you all seem to love them as much as I do. But then hey, what’s not to love about a cheesecake that is 10x easier and quicker to make? </div><div><br></div><div>So before I share the recipe with you I better explain what’s in them starting right from the bottom: a crushed digestive base, white chocolate Malteser filling, a layer of Malteser’s, another layer of cheesecake filling and then whipped cream and a white choc drizzle on top. Dare I say it but they might just make for the most perfect Christmas Day dessert?! </div><div><br></div><div><i>So calling all Malteser’s lovers, this ones for you...</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Recipe for individual white Malteser truffle cheesecake pots (makes 3-4): </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Biscuit Base: </i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•70g unsalted butter </div><div style="text-align: center;">•150g digestives </div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Cheesecake filling: </i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•250g full fat Philadelphia</div><div style="text-align: center;">•50g icing sugar </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1tsp vanilla extract </div><div style="text-align: center;">•150ml double cream </div><div style="text-align: center;">•150g white chocolate </div><div style="text-align: center;">•50g crushed Malteser’s </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Whipped cream top & decorations: </i></div><div style="text-align: center;">•150ml double cream </div><div style="text-align: center;">•2tbsp icing sugar </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Melted white chocolate to drizzle </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Malteser truffle </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Mini heart sprinkles (Tesco) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_e596_757f_7f35_8050" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/4MWY41-s22aBO3YAzkdKoAsINHJsKpwrg4cRWNYe9Xz1Ow70GAb-UwqLHDad9UQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_209a_fc88_f7a6_a6d1" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/2plY_ecOMVpH8_oKj1O78aR_g4CQo0IdT3mocKFEEaeTt4_ybsaiRDCJPsyJDd8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>M E T H O D: </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div>1.) To start off with your biscuit base melt the unsalted butter and mix with crushed digestives- I usually break mine up by whacking with a rolling pin...strangely therapeutic, or if you fancy you could also pop them into a blender to do the work for you. Spoon into your chosen glasses (<i>mine are empty Nutella jars</i>) and press down carefully, pop them into the fridge whilst you move onto the next step. </div><div><br></div><div>2.) Next up, melt 150g white chocolate (you could use any brand, just choose your favourite, I used white cooking chocolate). Microwaving on medium power in short bursts, stirring each time- this tends to be the easier option. </div><div><br></div><div>3.) For the filling mix Philadelphia with icing sugar and vanilla extract, and combine well. Then add double cream and keep whisking until thickened. Once thickened stir in your melted white chocolate and mix well again. </div><div><br></div><div>4.) To crush your Malteser’s use the same method as before for the digestives: place into a bowl and crush with the end of a rolling pin until the Malteser’s are as fine as you can get them. Once crushed fold through your finished cheesecake mix evenly. </div><div><br></div><div>5.) Fill each glass with a layer of cheesecake filling- you can either spoon in very carefully or do what I did and pipe the filling over the top of the biscuit base. </div><div><br></div><div>6.) Completed, carefully place halved Malteser’s around the edge of the glass and fill the middle with Malteser crumbs. Then go in with another layer of cheesecake filling and and sprinkle over any left over biscuit base. <span style="text-align: center;">Place into the fridge yet again whilst whipping up your cream. </span></div><div><br></div><div>7.) To make the whipped cream pour double cream into a bowl and add icing sugar over the top, whisk on high speed for a couple of minutes until fluffy and you’re able to pipe. I used a Wilton 2D nozzle for mine as it always gives the best finish. </div><div><br></div><div>8.) Decoration time- drizzle melted white chocolate and top with mini heart sprinkles and a Malteser truffle. Once they’re looking pretty set in the fridge for 4-5 hours before eating. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>Notes: *Feel free to layer your pots however you please! For example you could add halved truffles instead of the Malteser’s. </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>*This recipe can also be easily swapped to the milk chocolate flavour truffles... simply switch the white chocolate for milk chocolate instead. </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b> *They should last for 2 days kept in the fridge... if they last that long that is. </b></div><div><br></div><div><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I hope that you enjoy as much as I did, such a perfect little treat if you fancy something sweet over Christmas. Which means trying to squeeze in as many frozen slush cocktails as humanly possible must now be a thing for the final weeks of British sun...<i>any excuse.</i><div><br></div><div>And what screams summer more than watermelon??? So I figured this weeks alcoholic slush concoction just HAD to include both watermelon and pink gin, and I’ve got to say I think I may have well saved the very best until last. Freeze the lemonade and your chosen rosé prosecco in ice cube trays *separately* (it takes around 2-3 trays), and leave to freeze for at least 3 hours- <i>or if you want to be even more organised, the night before you plan on making your cocktails. </i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>2.) To freeze your watermelon cut a whole watermelon in half, and then quarter and then slice again. You should be left with thinner slices so it makes it easier to work with. I sliced mine into bite sized cubes and then popped them straight into the freezer along with my strawberries. </div><div><br></div><div>3.) Next measure out your gin into a jug and pop in the fridge to cool (this just helps to make the slush even more refreshing). </div><div><br></div><div>4.) Once everything is fully frozen chuck both your lemonade and rosé prosecco ice cubes into a blender along with the gin. Measure out 50ml of sugar syrup and pour over the top, along with a handful of watermelon chunks and a generous squeezing of fresh lime juice. Blitz quickly for 30 seconds or so- until everything is just blended, no longer- otherwise it’ll lose the slush consistency a little. </div><div><br></div><div>5.) Pour into chilled/frozen gin glasses, and then to finish garnish with a slice of watermelon and a squeeze of lime juice over the top. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>Notes: *If you aren’t a huge gin fan (I find that hard to believe) you could easily swap for another one of your favourites: rum or vodka would also work really well with this recipe. </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">And just like that there you have two absolutely incredible cocktails, practically skill free. So today I wanted to share with you the absolute best of the best when it comes to local restaurants in the Leicestershire area. From one foodie to another, here’s my top four picks, I’ve tried to select four very different eateries so they cater for all of your different tastes...</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>1.) </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><img id="id_a479_a0dc_b9de_71ab" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/dWLus43pO92Uz2CV_5N97Pt4DXfr3t7hHSwzQd5BgCDOd8Dy4fPo_vCRrqHIKHM" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_db88_8cf8_734b_c05c" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/t2qJZsuF6Y-NoR-a-FNuhkkNHqz09foD9EYQwf1QUHDDsGApbzOVLiNxSrYDjB4" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><font size="5"><b>The Basin: </b></font></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">If you’re local to the Loughborough area then I’m sure you already know about </span><a href="https://www.thebasin.co.uk" id="id_edf_d871_10d6_ab18">The Basin</a><span style="text-align: left;"> but I just HAD to include because it really is one of the most amazing Chinese/Japanese restaurants going- think Wagamama’s but even tastier. </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">I’ve been eating here for years now, and even after countless visits the service and food quality has always been absolutely exceptional. I visited for the very first time a couple of weeks back and was thoroughly impressed. It’s classic good pub grub done extremely well, in a cosy village pub setting. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">I ordered both a starter and main accompanied by wine...<i>of course. </i>Olives, balsamic and olive oil and bread to start, followed by sirloin steak, triple cooked chips and peppercorn sauce. It was SO difficult to choose for somebody as indecisive as myself as there’s so many attractive sounding options on the menu. I’ve got to say though I’m so pleased I chose the steak with peppercorn sauce as the sauce was one of the most delicious I’ve tried whilst out- such a beautiful kick whilst still being creamy. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br><img id="id_eb6e_99c6_fb9d_783d" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/kxZeCMNt3FBP1gz1RIg08al4ruaSrF-I80qc--rEHoSIG1jz4NYN4l7LbD1JGLs" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_f914_2ec1_665d_7ffe" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/0_OKg6PAYm9mYwwES3-X8G22hDQeYmeJ5HBgRRk7BRRsokzJUXmw9bWK8AFTHD0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>The Pug & Greyhound also has a good sized garden with an outside bar which also looked amazing if you’re popping by on a sunny day, but if it is typical British weather outside the restaurant and bar seating area inside is very cosy. The stonebaked pizza’s are also incredible, I just tried a plain margarita and it still was one of the best pizza’s I’ve ate out. Ever since I’ve been creating my frozen slush style cocktails I’ve been desperate to try out a pornstar martini version, so when I finally found the mango and passion fruit gin in Aldi I knew exactly what I was going to do- mix together both my love of gin, frozen cocktails and the famous passionfruit taste all in one. <i>Magical</i>. </div><div><br></div><div><u>WARNING: </u></div><div><i>Please don’t blame me if you suddenly find yourself craving one of these beauties 24/7, I warned you... </i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Recipe for pornstar martini style gin slushies (makes 2): </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">•6oz Mango & Passionfruit gin </div><div style="text-align: center;">•14oz passionfruit lemonade (Tesco own, sold in cans) </div><div style="text-align: center;">•6oz Prosecco </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Frozen mango chunks </div><div style="text-align: center;">•50ml sugar cane syrup</div><div style="text-align: center;">•Handful of crushed ice </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Passionfruit (to garnish) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_13f7_46c_c300_16b5" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/3hR0twktvdA2j7PTfMHdIAGanuucEpfUsjIMApR-tJOwvWizLFrDF5fJ5G89Pz8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_9a6f_33b_bef4_b7d5" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/phxQfTB4MKvHCDs2ZrWArkYPliYyzdKC9BOV5NhBU__y2Q21zkn1Er1b8SDgsBg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><b>M E T H O D: </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">1.) Freeze the Passionfruit lemonade and your chosen favourite prosecco in ice cube trays *separately* (it takes around 2-3 trays), and leave to freeze for at least 4-6 hours- <i>or if you want to be even more organised, the night before you plan on making your cocktails. </i></div><div style="text-align: left;"><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: left;">2.) To freeze your mango chunks you can either buy one whole fresh mango and cube yourself, or if you don’t fancy the faff buy them ready chopped and simply stick them into the freezer. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">3.) Next measure out your gin into a jug and pop in the fridge to cool (this just helps to make the slush even more refreshing). </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">4.) Once everything is fully frozen chuck both your passionfruit lemonade and prosecco ice cubes into a blender along with the gin. Measure out 50ml of sugar syrup and pour over the top, along with a handful of ice and your frozen mango. Blitz quickly for 30 seconds or so- until everything is just blended, no longer- otherwise it’ll lose the slush consistency a little. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">5.) Pour into chilled/frozen gin glasses, and then to finish garnish with passionfruit. For a true pornstar martini feel I added a shot of prosecco on the side, and then poured over the top of my cocktail for extra fizz (you could skip adding the extra prosecco over the top if you’d prefer to just shot it though, the decision is yours). </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Notes: *If you can’t get hold of any passionfruit lemonade (sold only in Tesco I believe) you could substitute for original lemonade instead. Of course it won’t have such a passionfruit taste, so to add it back I suggest adding the insides of one fresh passionfruit to your cocktail. </b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>*The Mango & Passionfruit gin is sold in Aldi. </b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ta da, job completed! I live in <b>Leicestershire</b> which I do think gives a bit of an advantage as it’s smack bang in the middle and pretty close to a few known popular hotspots: Derbyshire Dales (Matlock, Bakewell), Stratford, Lemmington Spa. </div><div><br></div><div>I really didn’t think many of you would be all that interested in my days out and new finds, and I’d just end up keeping my adventures to myself as it’s so different to what I usually post: cakes, cocktails, outfits. But then I guess just as our hobbies and interests change with age, so will our online content too, and it just so happens that I’ve come to adore new experiences and seeing more of the world <i>(well the U.K. really, let’s be real about the current crisis and my budget). </i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>So today I thought I’d share with you a quick little snippet of three of my all time favourite places I’ve visited recently, just because I think you’ll be head over heels in love too... </div><div><br></div><div><b>1.)</b></div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_5f8d_c800_56a6_e863" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/8K2HwO6WRgCdvMvQR0h6ZMU8ZopY3tbN-69v3vTK6G90PWxFgPkfnyXybxCMAMI" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_5808_5a8c_f970_51b4" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/jFSBjwrHHcVFC5XTssx7OrBnbgXbGJp_zi3sxW-k_YFFrr7467kbBvytrUoKp-0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><font size="5">Chatsworth Estate: </font></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">Well, Chatsworth has to have a mention first because it’s STUNNING- as I’m sure you can see. Right from the moment I set eyes on the house from a distance I was in complete awe. I visited back in June when tighter lockdown restrictions were still in place which meant that inside of the house wasn’t open, leaving only the grounds and gardens available. But actually that didn’t matter at all because it’s so so easy to spend the afternoon having the best time enjoying the gardens and all they have to offer. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">On arrival there’s sheep roaming around freely everywhere and the views over the dales are breathtaking. One of my personal favourites are the waterfall steps you’re free to paddle in and walk down, if you start from the top you get the best view/look of the entire house. The gardens also make for the best picnic, there is a small shop and fish & chip van on site but I’d advise taking your own food and then buying extras such as ice cream from the shops. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img id="id_71d8_196c_b8e9_9c30" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/zkdzeDCKFQFETqsTpPcfkaRK0WZP7xz4X09WZvKqfo67PuuW_KxagU0GPYq4yz0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_7f54_5861_d014_4d31" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/N9K4lX8EUODA8P7OxDCby0UQm2C0yOfzkQz6JHACd_jE3grQIr6PYVU0zkJgD9w" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>All in all I couldn’t recommend Chatsworth enough, I honestly had one of the absolute best days, in fact it’s actually one of my standout favourites of 2020 so far. It was one of the hottest days of the year when I visited, which meant that it was fairly busy but I was still able to take in its beauty all of the same. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">Of course no trip to Stratford would be compelete without a boat ride along the River Avon, so you bet that was first port of call. We opted for a motorboat which is £25 to hire out for 30 minutes, but I’ve got to say it’s worth every penny as it was the standout experience of the day. You get to see all of the swans and different canal boats, and it really does make your day feel that little more special. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img id="id_225b_63e8_7e36_e79f" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pBpToeru-Z3tWzlKvVteIDXoBB6pZJEsDmfVFLfPNmI_u_nQ5ECOgBzVpMRT_B8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_c7c9_efc2_d506_d67a" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/K4MaSpAoh4ZRHlkvkAOlZ1qEYcfcnfh2YFad7aHBXdMjKT-BcLlZkamsVu-Wv5w" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_7675_1606_56da_5cac" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/jPaNB3H1OizsZGpxKE-ntNYCB3iOPzght1QH4HMLYnYwDWKY7_OiMblJYHExtuk" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>I also really enjoyed strolling through the backstreets and admiring the buildings and all of the cute shops and cafes. There’s also the butterfly farm which I’m desperate to visit as I’m a sucker for places like that. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">All in all Stratford is an incrediblely beautiful day out, or it would even be perfect for a nights stay too! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>3.) </b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img id="id_e10_42f9_e70f_7052" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/h3o-CxkY8W_ziPRQPN52ncED0ZBhBKxpnMhf5nGK_labgx2Vl8dYKfN36Tgxq3I" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_bd7b_38c2_211_ad65" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/pKOE_al9zryNDjKdroe__ndgWP2FS9MmAXhaFDAzLmvM3KR71T2TDn1eD_4DzF8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br><div style="text-align: center;"><b><font size="5">Matlock Bath:</font></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">So I’ll keep this one short as I’ve already written and published an entire post dedicated to Matlock which you can read <a href="http://www.itslittlelauren.co.uk/2020/07/day-trip-how-to-spend-day-in-matlock.html" id="id_8c1f_cc32_eacd_42de">here</a>, but I did think it needed including in the blogpost too as it was also another very special day out. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">Staying brief I will just say that this has the most amazing sea side feel to it. All of the sweet shops and fish & chip shops on offer are countless...which is basically heaven for most of us let’s be honest. Just like Stratford you can also hire a boat, but of the two places I’d definitely recommend opting for River Avon. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img id="id_4ca2_12f5_1f45_29d1" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/Mbg4wkQQkJzJjh5WNpCl0uwKNl7ojU3-CD2Jw9gi1GMTV39EtHs-YkV4YDJanLE" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_3b75_ef27_59e4_ca28" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/SzS--3bgbEnx7XBQmT-igCwaMrRNcUmjQnZ8Dy5ZxR01s_KWlqxvHKOQLfZ5WTc" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>This is one of those little villages that makes the perfect family day out, especially if you have children as I can imagine this would be the most fun day out for them. Let’s go with both shall we?! <div><br></div><div>So today’s refreshing concoction is this Gordon’s Sicilian lemon and Fanta lemon beauty. I didn’t think for one minute I’d love this as much as the white peach flavour, but it’s SO refreshing and reminds me of being on holiday abroad, so it’s right up there next to the peach in my opinion. Please bare in mind you’re talking to an ex lemon hater, so it’s got to be good if I think so. </div><div><br></div><div><u>WARNING:</u></div><div><i>The first sip will take your breath away- they’re dangerously moreish...</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Recipe for Sicilian lemon gin slushies (makes 2): </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;">•8oz Gordon’s Sicilian lemon gin </div><div style="text-align: center;">•8oz Prosecco </div><div style="text-align: center;">•14oz Fanta Lemon <i>OR</i> Cloudy lemonade </div><div style="text-align: center;">•25ml sugar cane syrup </div><div style="text-align: center;">•Handful of crushed ice </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1 lemon- sliced </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_268a_ea40_2b11_d7d5" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/Zp6L-9U-xoDcy-nN9MziS6u25KRNIODqg1V48RtHzZ5STYGxGG9JR2F7sc4ZZ7I" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_c39_7ad_6657_f1b6" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/XAFH4duyAaO9M6SOs0B4h6XBmoTfKYi_kxqPNmtnGIQZwFuiTs9VwmsnGdVwZQA" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>M E T H O D: </b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">1.) An afternoon out exploring a new place with those close to me will forever hold more memories and value to me than a quick shopping trip or meal out at the same restaurant on repeat ever will. And the best bit is these gems are right on my doorstep too, but had this situation not happened I probably wouldn’t have discovered this passion of mine. </div><div><br></div><div>So today I want to introduce you all to the beauty that is <b>Matlock Bath. </b></div><div><br></div><div>Of all of the places I’ve visited lately Matlock is definitely up there as one of my all time favourites. In fact, as soon as we drove into the little village I fell in love almost <i>instantly</i>. There’s a fish and chip shop almost every other shop and the amount of old fashioned sweet and ice cream shops are endless. They also have the arcades, a few little pubs and the chance to ride along the river and give your rowing boat skills a go. It has such a seaside feel to it which is strange to say as there’s no sea or beach but as soon as you visit you’ll know immediately what I’m talking about. </div><div><br></div><div>Anyway enough of the rambling before I bore you all, here’s how I spent my day seeing the sights...</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_fb57_5a0c_11b8_6162" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/GUJ0XpkGfja__nHTUP96ibDSNJa5VE0T_Ma3LTscXElA_jQQXDrRcDsE_6JU53c" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>As there aren’t too many spaces to park and you only get a very limited time of an hour, we decided to park further up at the pay and display car park around a three minute walk away from <i>Heights of Abraham. </i>I thought including this information would be handy for any of you wanting to visit as finding a space could prove to be a bit of a nightmare, especially when it’s partcially busy, so this is my first tip. </div><div><br></div><div>Unfortunately <b>Heights of Abraham</b> wasn’t open when we visited but I’d definitely recommend as it looks like it would be an amazing experience taking in all of the stunning views from above. Because of this our first port of call was a stroll along the river whilst nosying at all of the shops and experiences on offer. The little rowing boats are £15 and look so so fun. I imagine on a sunny day the walk along the river would be even nicer. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_434_6832_7a73_c3b2" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/BGj7cjXnHqym6HPYtmd2xPoTxUPHF7ap2FrIbEArpYhtcj8ebFGQ8CpOGsOVt5Y" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_4a9c_9406_a881_40ca" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/NyrsIBok9gkJT-_pMst66t9FEqkxbxeH4x93eXn0OkDjMMy7bbLKcKf0n-YnrhA" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_173_1047_46db_5ea1" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/TbfZMFlkDI8ZshRBDeunDT3liAycNBJSvft0raqFFMTua0HSmEf8fFfIgXArw_U" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_cc9d_32a8_bc81_91a9" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/AV46EGUtBHNM8hIENhEg8LYrxqXtVj0SXth4ZDZz5_R2m4o2-n3FG8esppXmz-8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>Our next spot was the small aquarium next to the arcades, it’s only a very tiny place but at £3 an entry you can’t complain and it was quite enjoyable in its own little way- obviously the real life nemo fish being my favourite thing about it. </div><div><br></div><div>Of course we then had to have a play in the arcades on the slot machines and grab a cute snap in the photo booth to remember the day by. I think now you may realise why I mentioned earlier about Matlock having a real seaside feel to it which is why I think I enjoyed it so much. However, on the flip side if that doesn’t appeal to you quite so much there’s still stunning views to take in and activities to enjoy without feeling too ‘ typical touristy’. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_fe01_1b5d_ac10_eed9" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/62vsxFsYMX4PubHvB0DOe0a_BYZUxUWTm3LXDqLQ1zX33oxJIIX6xItSsVRo4mc" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_765a_ea61_50f7_8427" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/f4mcl2wjBfesG4Q-ZV9qa72nJTaCAE0SiuS_23snonYwN5T8BwMJtgxotFCudek" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>All of the sight seeing can prove to be quite thirsty work so pub trip it was. There’s a few pub choices if I remember correctly, but we chose the first one we came across which was <b>Rose Cottage. </b>Being my first pub visit since they reopened I was a little apprehensive as to how it would all work but it turns out it’s actually planned very well as far as distancing from others goes. All in all plenty of space and the perfect spot to people watch and take in the surroundings. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_b6a6_1cdc_2bc6_bc6d" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/nUhuEsqoB4mJq9dgtddIv6MdGhPta7KRt6qFG_gA5ebzKNSMBrxjf4CLt4WzUe8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_c607_296c_ff9f_51c8" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/gbiDnxo-NJMebIMMvl3IjKhh8X3NfVxewRo6mFpKzwupnsg9fD-rCgegMXl6FiA" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br>It would be criminal not to spend at least ten minutes browsing each sweet shop like a child when there’s so many staring at you screaming to come in. Either I’m very easily pleased or this is just the best sweet shop to exist?! Another thing I adore about Matlock are the cute, quirky ice cream and chip cone characters outside the shops along with the Union Jack flags, those kind of things make me the happiest as everywhere you turn there’s a perfect photo opportunity. </div><div><br></div><div><b>PS: </b><u style="font-style: italic;">Please</u> do not buy the extra extra sour watermelon sweets, they’ll have you foaming at the mouth like I did, they’re 100x worse than five toxic waste sweets at once...lesson learnt. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_7dba_b419_99f3_d34e" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/e_l9Pkzs3MN8PNgqJwFubUR6YFunVSFjKAaDuZpOh_dPCHpu3KTfM1-VcHKagQU" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br> No British day trip would be complete without fish & chips would it?! We decided that we definitely had to end our day sat outside one of the many chip shops talking through our day. I’ve got to say we definitely chose the right chippy as they were gorgeous. </div><div><br></div><div>And that’s it, my very first visit to <b>Matlock Bath</b>, and it certainly won’t be my last. To summarise: a beautiful stroll along the river boat spotting, my first glass of wine at a pub for months, making friends with the real life Nemo’s in the aquarium, nosying at all of the cute shops and arcades, and then finishing off with good old fish & chips. Basically a day at the seaside... just without the beach. </div><div><br></div><div>I can’t wait to visit again, lots of people say it’s incredible in the evening when they have their illuminations so that’s the one thing I cannot wait for this year. Derbyshire villages really do have a special place in my heart and I certainly won’t be forgetting about this one in a hurry, it really was the dreamiest day ever and I can’t even tell you just how happy it left me feeling. </div><div><br></div><div style="text-align: center;">Have you been to Matlock Bath before, what do you think? A buttermilk pancake breakfast in bed, that’s what. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll probably have guessed that I have a bit of an addiction to sweet breakfast foods: pancakes, croissants, waffles...especially when topped with either Nutella and strawberries or Biscoff, and you all seem to share the very same love too. <div><br></div><div>So today I thought I’d share my very favourite buttermilk pancake recipe so you can all recreate and treat yourself to the best possible start to your day...because no bad day starts with pancakes, right? </div><div><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Recipe for fluffy, amazing buttermilk pancakes: </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">•350g self-raising flour </div><div style="text-align: center;">•1tsp bicarbonate soda</div><div style="text-align: center;">•1/2 tsp salt </div><div style="text-align: center;">•2 tbsp caster sugar </div><div style="text-align: center;">•200ml buttermilk</div><div style="text-align: center;">•400ml semi-skimmed milk </div><div style="text-align: center;">•2 medium eggs </div><div style="text-align: center;">•85g unsalted butter (and a little extra for melting in pan) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_68db_85b3_97a_e134" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/PnH9ViSK9Y8fa4VdrN2HVCRKLsys7PtaKYrIaHESxn4by7PkSs6LNNarBfswqbM" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br><br><img id="id_8bc3_b8a3_2dce_85e3" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/yinVP7c4FCNXC-1OBstV8EXfyDQma6wbgmVPfinTnSiYkTeln_GI7duXxUuVDZY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 746px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>M E T H O D </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">1.) In a separate bowl mix together the buttermilk, milk, eggs and butter. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">3.) Create a ‘well’ in the middle of the flour mix and then pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir to mix (PS: don’t overmix, just mix until combined and then stop). </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;">4.) Melt a small amount of butter in a frying pan, then pour some batter into the pan to make a pancake. Cook your pancakes for about a minute, or until the underside is golden brown and the top is bubbling. <span style="font-family: Arial;"><img alt="" id="id_3357_6965_e0da_e1b" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/h7XK6xptcw_RvNBNSjdS0P8gpahX12RhcaXpvLZYmm-Ai-N6fO_UCZ-xVcw" style="height: auto; width: 746px;" title="" tooltip=""><br></span></div>

<span style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";">Okay, so promise me that you won’t laugh? Are you sure? I’ll go ahead and continue then... In case you didn’t know I’ve visited Gran Canaria </span><b style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";">20+ times.</b><span style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";"> Yes 20 something times</span><i style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";"> (and I say 20+ times as I really have lost count now.)</i><span style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";"> So when it comes to food, drink and trip recommendations you could say that I’m your go to gal as I now consider myself as a bit of an expert... (Hey, if blogging fails maybe I’ll just have to become a rep for the resort, </span><i style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";">who knows</i><span style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-family: "arial";"> ;) ) </span></div>

</div><div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">I know, I know 20 something times your saying to yourself in your head- that’s <u>excessive.</u> But there’s just something about the Canary Islands that keeps me constantly desperate to go back at every opportunity, so don’t worry I can <i>explain</i> my excessive ways. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><b>Puerto Rico</b> in-particular is pretty much a second home to me, I honestly feel more at home there than my ‘actual home’. It’s the food, the laid back family vibe, the amazing people, the beaches and <b>everything</b> in-between. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">So being as I’m a little bit of a Canarian food and culture enthusiast/geek I thought that it was only fair to share my knowledge with you all, and hopefully you’ll get the chance to experience the beautiful place I call my second home too. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><span style="font-family: Arial;">From food and restaurants, to beaches and night life, let’s go...</span></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></i></div>

<b><span style="font-family: Arial;">First category: Food and restaurants</span></b></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">1.) Bubble’s </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This restaurant is my absolute <b>go to</b> when it comes to paella, canarian potatoes with mojo sauce and sizzling steaks. The food is honestly to die for, cooked to absolute perfection, with the most chilled out relaxed vibe, oh and the decor is just as beautiful too. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">It’s based in the <i>first phase</i> of Puerto Rico’s main shopping centre, depending on the time of year you’re visiting I’d suggest arriving a little earlier at around 7pm as it does tend to get busy very fast later on in the evening. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><img alt="" id="id_4634_445b_5722_7413" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/eGo7FZiKmD4GffDD4I_JX_cLtw7KF4zIhtPkoKBcFYc0eijlp6molqHViMY" style="height: auto; width: 746px;" title="" tooltip=""><br></span></div>

<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></u></i></div><div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">2.) Pinocchio’s </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Again, another one of my ‘absolutely visit at least twice’ restaurants. Pinocchio’s actually isn’t too far from <i>Bubble’s</i>, and it’s a family run Italian so a completely different style of food, although again expect that there might be quite a long queue outside. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">They cook fresh pizza, pastas and meat dishes. A few I’d definitely recommend: ‘Rigotoni with chicken’ a tomatoey, garlicy goodness pasta dish, the carbonara and their lasagna is amazing too. It also helps that all of the waiters are the friendliest you’ll ever meet. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>

<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></u></i></div><div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">3.) Miami steak house</span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I’m not too sure where to start with Miami as the menu is honestly <b>HUGE</b>. It’s definitely a restaurant for families who might all want totally different dishes. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">My particular favourites are their chicken fajitas which I can never get enough of as they’re amazing, steak and chips with peppercorn sauce, and their roast dinners they cook especially every Sunday. I should also warn you that their portion sizes are also as HUGE, let’s just say that they don’t skimp when it comes to food. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><span style="font-family: Arial;">(Based almost next door to Pinocchio’s the Italian, by the way) </span></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">

<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<u><i><span style="font-family: Arial;">4.) El Capricho </span></i></u></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Bold statement announcement: THIS IS THE BEST DESSERT PLACE YOU’LL VISIT IN YOUR LIFE. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I feel like I should let you all know that I visit this cocktail and dessert place <b>every single day</b> of my holiday, it’s literally where all of my spending money goes, I swear. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">They have SO many different flavour Nutella, chocolate and cream pancakes, ice cream sundaes, alcoholic milkshakes including Bailey’s and also a wide range of cocktails which I’ll discuss separately later. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">

<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">There’s actually two beaches in Puerto Rico but <b>Amadores</b> definitely tops the main beach <i>(although that is lovely too). </i></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Bright white sand, crystal blue sea, a beach club, inflatables and assault courses in the sea, water sports, restaurants and bars, countless shops. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Amadores really is stunning, it feels like absolute paradise. It’s also only a lovely scenic sea walk 15- 20 minutes from Puerto Rico’s main centre. You can easily spend the entire day there and have plenty to do. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">If there’s only one place you visit I’d say make sure that it’s here, but I’m sure you’ll be able to realise just why that is looking at my photos. </span></div>

<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">2.) Puerto Rico harbour </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">A stunning place you absolutely must visit is the harbour. There’s so many stunning Spanish streets to stroll down with the most beautiful flowers and palm trees. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I always make a point of walking down past the yachts, the floral maze benches and along past the sand at golden hour/sunset. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">The laid back feel good Spanish vibe and views leave you feeling completely relaxed and calm. It feels like a completely different resort compared to the main shopping centre which is a little commercialised. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">

<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">3.) Mogán</span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Another picture perfect town is Mogán, nicknamed little Venice which when you visit you’ll totally realise why. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody come back from a day out in Mogán and not completely fall in love with the place. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">It’s a short taxi or boat journey from Puerto Rico, which I believe is a lot cheaper than getting a taxi there and back. Either way it’s totally worth it.</span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">They have lovely little Spanish coffee shops, markets and pretty apartments to take in, too. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>

<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">4.) Dolphin and whale glass bottom boat trip </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This is a trip that I’ve been on a couple of times now, and I would absolutely love to do it more often but myself and sea sickness do not mix well AT ALL. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Anyway, my dodgy, delicate tummy aside it’s a lovely day out. You’re almost always guaranteed to see wild dolphins swimming right up close to you out in the sea, and if you’re really lucky sometimes you can catch a glimpse of a killer whale. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">It’s such an experience seeing such beautiful creatures up close in their wild environment. Definitely remember to take your camera as there’s a glass bottom too so you can see all of the fish. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>

<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">1.) Tipsy Elements </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This place is brand spanking new and is part of the growing <b>‘Market Place</b>’ shopping centre right next to Puerto Rico’s main shopping centre. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I only discovered this bar this year as it hasn’t been open for long but it’s already climbed it’s way up into my firm favourite list. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">They have the best range of cool cocktails: <i>gold</i> porn star martinis, a whole range of different flavour mojitos and more. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">If you visit at night when it’s dark you get the best light up view of Puerto Rico, and they have lots of fire lamps to keep cosy on their big cushioned chairs. The vibe is very much like a trendy, laid back London bar. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>

<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">2.) El Caprichio </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">You know I mentioned that I’d get back to talking all things <b>El Caprichio’s</b> cocktails earlier on in this blogpost (you’re a true saint for making it this far if so) <i>well here we go... </i></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This place couldn’t be more completely different to <b>Tipsy Element’s</b> if it tried: the vibe, decor, the staff. Of the two I’d say this is more of a chill out family bar perfect for people watching and pre drinks. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I always go for their amazing mojitos, fresh strawberry daiquiri’s and Aperol’s every single night. I can’t even put into words just how much I love this place, once you visit too you’ll completely understand my adoration though. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<i><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">3.) Main shopping centre </span></u></i></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">When it comes to nightlife Puerto Rico isn’t what you’d describe as wild. It’s an amazing place to have a laugh, a dance and lots of banter but not quite so ‘<i>clubby</i>’ shall we say? </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I personally <b>love</b> that about Puerto Rico though, you get the chance to meet so many funny families. All of the best bars are on the second floor of the shopping centre if you’re after pub games and a laugh. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Irish bars, dance bars (Piccadilly’s, Rider’s, Dicey’s, Snoopy etc) you have such a pick. </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Oh, and slightly off the night life topic a few people have asked if there’s a good mini golf close by, and my go to is always the mini golf course right next door to McDonald’s just before you get to the main shopping centre! </span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><img alt="El Caprichio’s " id="id_46d0_16f8_1f62_3754" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/qdv34ioqQlhVZJmX1nN362R8sPTebp7-KbpNM_ZHnxH38tzYPicfrSKY1y0" style="height: auto; margin: 4px; width: 746px;" title="" tooltip=""><br><br></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial;">And there we have it, that concludes my <i>jam packed</i> guide to having the best time in Gran Canaria. I really really hope that you’ve found my recommendations helpful, you’ll have to let me know if you’re planning on visiting- <b>I’d love to know. </b></span></div>

<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Oh and one last thing whilst I’m at it as I know people ask often, my favourite hotels are: <b>Morasol Suite’s/Marina Suites, Cala D’or, Marina Bay View. </b></span></div>
<div style="color: rgb(69 , 69 , 69); font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 20.8px; text-align: center;">

Melt together the butter and dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl… now to do this part you can either go all old school and melt over a pan of boiling water, or if you’re bit of a lazy, minimal effort in the kitchen kinda girl like me then just simply whack it in the microwave. </span></div>

For the next step you ideally need an electric whisk as you’ll want to whisk together the eggs and caster sugar. <b>I’ve changed it up slightly by adding the Creme Eggs but the actual brownie mix is absolute heaven and all thanks to Jane. Baking queen! </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Brownies</b> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•<i>200g unsalted butter (lurpak is my usual go to for brownies) </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•200g dark chocolate </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•3 large eggs </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•275g caster sugar </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•90g plain flour </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•35g cocoa powder </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•150g chocolate chips (or you could use 50g mini eggs)</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Decoration: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•<i>Easter chicks </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•1 pack of mini eggs </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>•6 Cadbury’s Creme Eggs<b> (I halved my cream eggs and then put them in the freezer to set an hour before I made my brownies so that they don’t melt completely whilst in the oven. I’d say this part is essential so don’t forget to put them in the freezer beforehand.) </b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYlj2Z2sSky1YkoMfX0-kJZbwDyxZBUsvhgDpBboGqbhpQU72t00v2l1mTZ3DgVyZ3Kd9tlz38zOAH-p26coXM8Lgb6j_WMyGLuy1mRVmMPoaQv0P2gyz2CHNeW7PTdUxtdeE1a1LZl1QX/s640/blogger-image-1768955961.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYlj2Z2sSky1YkoMfX0-kJZbwDyxZBUsvhgDpBboGqbhpQU72t00v2l1mTZ3DgVyZ3Kd9tlz38zOAH-p26coXM8Lgb6j_WMyGLuy1mRVmMPoaQv0P2gyz2CHNeW7PTdUxtdeE1a1LZl1QX/s1600/blogger-image-1768955961.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<i>Method: </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1.) Before you get started you’ll want to go ahead and pre-heat your oven to <b>180C/Gas mark 4</b>, and then start prepping by lining a 9x9inch square baking tin with grease proof paper. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
2.) Okay, boring bits done, it’s now time to get started. Melt together the butter and dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl… now to do this part you can either go all old school and melt over a pan of boiling water, <i>orrrr</i> if you’re bit of a lazy, minimal effort in the kitchen kinda girl like me then just simply whack it in the microwave. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Once melted, leave on the side to cool whilst you get on with all of the other fun stuff. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
3.) For the next step you ideally need an electric whisk as you’ll want to whisk together the eggs and caster sugar. Do this for a few minutes until the colour has turned pale, is mousse like in appearance, and is double the original volume of the amount of sugar and eggs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
If you really want to be sure it’s done lift the whisk and it should leave a trail for a couple of seconds before disappearing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4.) Once you’ve whisked, pour the cooled chocolate/butter mix over the eggs and fold together carefully. Aka please don’t mix it to death, the outcome won’t be half as good, so carefully does it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
5.) So now you’re happy that it’s completely combined, sift the cocoa powder and plain flour on top of the chocolate mix and then fold together again- remember, carefully does it because you don’t want to knock out all of the air. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
6.) Combined and *<i>almost</i>* ready to go, fold through the chocolate chips, and/or mini eggs (depending on your preferences and how chocolatey you’d like your brownies). And then carefully spoon into your ready prepped tin<i> (you’ll be feeling like you should maybe be on some type of cookery show at this stage. The great British bake off? </i><b>Sign me up!</b>) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr50GyqKwMR-gJ4zQFzlDVhSzowH9uTJ4u2tEE_YPiq7FnYg3TOSTWXapG1eAs4mJRiOdLzDU-l4gZ-9AcByOaC-_ARa4FF3IDK5lT1m4yetezzEUdzRcfZMxl7VeO2eCj8dqdY1nqi8SI/s640/blogger-image-980505119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr50GyqKwMR-gJ4zQFzlDVhSzowH9uTJ4u2tEE_YPiq7FnYg3TOSTWXapG1eAs4mJRiOdLzDU-l4gZ-9AcByOaC-_ARa4FF3IDK5lT1m4yetezzEUdzRcfZMxl7VeO2eCj8dqdY1nqi8SI/s1600/blogger-image-980505119.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<b>JUST A LITTLE SIDE NOTE</b>: I didn’t put the Creme Eggs on top of my brownies <u>until the last five minutes</u> so that they wouldn’t sink/melt everywhere, I wouldn’t recommend putting the Creme Eggs on straight the way/wait until at least until they’re almost baked. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Pop in the oven and let them <b>bake for 25-30 minutes</b> (my oven is a little bit useless and takes longer than this so just check before/after this time to double check)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Oh and screw what your old food tech teacher used to tell you, nows the time to lick the bowl and pretend that you’re five all over again. If you don’t think that this part is the best thing about making cakes/brownies… well then I’m sorry but you’re lying to yourself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And voilá, your very own gooey creme egg brownies- be sure to let me know if you give them a whirl as I’d love to see your photos. Happy baking. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Also one last thing and I promise I’ll clear off and let you get on with it, if you’d like me to post more recipes on my blog (milkshakes, hot chocolates etc) then please send me a message on Instagram and let me know! </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #e4af0a; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYX49TvAJB7F_fZqcXJo7FTanGBnXh0gMz2eEeS7WAcon-wh80J6r44_r8xw3ztDvV_c9EnLlT7p36dH1d6trhOn1wSFhr6FR3CAmnznBiO24gh7mKUMpxhRCIqJEjrRRc6fTBgVAFm8Kg/s640/blogger-image-405024249.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYX49TvAJB7F_fZqcXJo7FTanGBnXh0gMz2eEeS7WAcon-wh80J6r44_r8xw3ztDvV_c9EnLlT7p36dH1d6trhOn1wSFhr6FR3CAmnznBiO24gh7mKUMpxhRCIqJEjrRRc6fTBgVAFm8Kg/s1600/blogger-image-405024249.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #e4af0a; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If I had to sum up the Christmas party season in <span style="font-style: italic;">only</span> <span style="font-weight: bold;">four</span> words I'd have to go with: cocktails, sequins, food, <span style="font-style: italic;">and erm</span>, yet more cocktails?... <span style="font-weight: bold;">YES</span>, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">more cocktails</span>- January <span style="font-style: italic;">wouldn't</span> be January without a health kick/’let's get fit’ mission, after all, let's be honest.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">...Which is just as well as I fully intend to indulge this Christmas, <span style="font-style: italic;">y'know</span>, a chocolate orange, a few mince pies, and a couple of cocktails (that basically translates to 'I swear that I'm only going to treat myself a little... Two hours later and hey, <span style="font-style: italic;">you've guessed it</span>, I've accidentally <span style="font-weight: bold;">on purpose</span> eaten the entire cheeseboard single handily- don't you just <span style="font-style: italic;">hate</span> when that happens?!) </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Besides the ‘oh so wonderful’, magical parts of Christmas it can be a little stressful too… There's only one word needed to describe Christmas shopping, and that's... <span style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">nightmare</span>. Other words such as <span style="font-weight: bold;">stressful</span> and <span style="font-weight: bold;">tiring</span> could, of course, be used, but I'd say the word 'nightmare' sums up the mad dash in the</span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">shops pretty well- </span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-style: italic;">don’t you agree? </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-style: italic;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-style: italic;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-style: italic;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXQ-qF58mezZXaoywj_C6Dael1oNMkmYTo26bx6adymBTNzRP8ySOW18HxKqfsvPLB7FWoPQ0TgZPiD2EFKgRVFDxBdklXWSGG6D5lES8fiJmOL_J1pYarD75wjjWr1l7ZpZ3j-xMXJETD/s640/blogger-image--2135397387.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXQ-qF58mezZXaoywj_C6Dael1oNMkmYTo26bx6adymBTNzRP8ySOW18HxKqfsvPLB7FWoPQ0TgZPiD2EFKgRVFDxBdklXWSGG6D5lES8fiJmOL_J1pYarD75wjjWr1l7ZpZ3j-xMXJETD/s640/blogger-image--2135397387.jpg" /></a></span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So when <span style="color: #e4af0a;"><a href="http://www.rumchata.com/" rel="nofollow">RumChata</a></span> got in touch and invited me to try their cocktails, you bet that I jumped at the chance, because nothing solves Christmas shopping stress quite like a girl’s night in relaxing with a few different cocktails. </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I’m a huge fan of rum and of cream liqueurs, and RumChata combines my two favourites drinks into one! Think smooth Caribbean rum, fresh cream, vanilla, cinnamon and a whole host of other secret spices and you’ve got a real taste of paradise!</span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If you fancy joining in on all of the girly night festive fun too, here's two very special RumChata cocktail recipes to get the party started... </span></div>

<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Candy Cane Cocktail: </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">

<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">...A cocktail for the one whose Christmas obsession is slightly out of hand</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•Crushed candy canes for the rim of the glass <span style="font-style: italic;">(optional) </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•1 part RumChata</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•1 part strawberry vodka </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•2 drops of peppermint extract </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•Ice cubes </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The method:</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">To add that little bit of extra glamour to your glass you'll want to sprinkle your crushed candy canes onto a small plate and then cover the outside rim of a chilled martini glass with white chocolate. Holding the glass by the stem, rotate the rim to coat with the crushed candy canes. </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 20.8px;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, RumChata, strawberry vodka, and peppermint extract, and then shake like hell. Strain into your chilled martini glass and garnish with a mini candy cane. Ta-da, you should now have one seriously Christmassy cocktail to impress your friends with the next time they're round- are you Buddy the Elf in disguise? <span style="font-style: italic;">Who knows, let's leave them guessing. </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Indulgent Chocolate Orange RumChata: </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">...Hands up if you love all things sweet, chocolatey and totally Instagram worthy? This one’s for you </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•Fondant orange to decorate the rim of the glass <span style="font-style: italic;">(optional) </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•White chocolate to drizzle (optional) </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•2 parts RumChata</span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•1 part Vodka </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•1/2 part Dark Crème de Cocoa </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">•2 drops of orange flavoured extract </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The method: </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Start by drizzling your chosen glass with white chocolate until you’re happy with it, and then pop it in the fridge for around ten minutes to set. (Save the melted white chocolate for later to drizzle over the top of your cocktail). </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">To make the cocktail you’ll want to add all of the alcohol (and the orange extract too) to a cocktail shaker, and yep, you’ve guessed it… shake. Once shaken to your liking, pour into your chocolate glass, and then drizzle the leftover white chocolate over the top of your cocktail. To finish add your fondant orange to garnish. </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">One indulgent chocolatey delight to cosy up by the fire with, made as <span style="font-style: italic;">easy</span> as that. </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So there we have it, two seriously festive cocktails to relax and enjoy beside the fire. Which one have you got your eye on making? </span></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #454545; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<i><br /></i></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1r2Yfdp27xV4uCsla8gqyRFg5wlynxw7yCdnF2rna_cX5lrfmCEiE6-sS6bd-6QvW7DG92lPin-aA8ivtLcL4GokYl8b8VLnWyPxZ4fvJDq7zWVGvZkBHnkowiHLIguDqFZpeVvx75KY1/s640/blogger-image--1254565798.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1r2Yfdp27xV4uCsla8gqyRFg5wlynxw7yCdnF2rna_cX5lrfmCEiE6-sS6bd-6QvW7DG92lPin-aA8ivtLcL4GokYl8b8VLnWyPxZ4fvJDq7zWVGvZkBHnkowiHLIguDqFZpeVvx75KY1/s1600/blogger-image--1254565798.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>~L - R: D for danger, Charlottle Tilbury- Glastonberry, Rebel, Diva, Charlotte Tilbury- Walk of shame, Dubonnet, M.A.C Red~</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I think it's safe to say that summer has disappeared for yet another year. I mean, I <i>would</i> be upset about this... but how can you be when it's now acceptable to light <i>all</i> of the candles, drink <i>all</i> of the hot chocolate and wear <i>all</i> of the vampy lipsticks again?! I don't know about you but I'm excited about the latter anyway, so with this being said, here's the five MAC lipsticks you <b>need</b> to buy in time for A/W... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u><b>Rebel</b> | <i>Shade- Plum with berry pink undertones | Finish- Satin </i></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I usually tend to fall out of love with a lipstick the longer I've owned it, but not Rebel. This still remains one of my absolute faves for autumn/winter, and that's even when it's been sitting in my makeup bag for what feels like forever. This is also one of those lipsticks that looks different on each person, depending on your skin tone- on me it's more of a deep vampy purple, whereas on others it can look slightly on the pinker/plum side. Try it, I dare you... be a rebel - see what I did there? ;) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u><b>M.A.C Red</b> | <i>Shade- Rich classic red | Finish- Satin</i></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Whenever anybody asks me to recommend them a classic red lipstick, I always point them in the direction of MAC Red. I'm a massive fan of the satin finish, as they aren't completely matte, meaning that they still have that moisturising element without looking glossy, which is exactly what you want when you're wearing something bright- chapped lips aren't a good look, are they?! Oh, and dare I say it... It's the perfect red for over the Christmas period. I know, I know, it's only September but I couldn't not throw that out there! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC1aEXMbmnueRVWgblwJsvT5DxXunVA1UzvhKhOme18PU1RVvIi-JOIZ1u8fxiSGkQ6ULyvH5a7j7Dkhvnkuja3JSxZQP_7R_Zw1hCnJsOBIUXiZfGlh9ywLW1yNSXKAms8gNjc95aU7w4/s640/blogger-image-1421313281.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC1aEXMbmnueRVWgblwJsvT5DxXunVA1UzvhKhOme18PU1RVvIi-JOIZ1u8fxiSGkQ6ULyvH5a7j7Dkhvnkuja3JSxZQP_7R_Zw1hCnJsOBIUXiZfGlh9ywLW1yNSXKAms8gNjc95aU7w4/s640/blogger-image-1421313281.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<b>- For an alternative to MAC, I'd recommend Charlotte Tilbury 'Walk of shame' (left), and Glaston-Berry (right) </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u><b>Diva</b> | <i>Shade- Burgundy | Finish- Matte </i></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Diva is one of the well known MAC lipsticks, and for good reason too as the deep burgundy colour is definitely worth raving about. The staying power is amazing, and I'd know as my dinner choice every time I'm out is a wrap, burger/something equally as messy... We all know if a lipstick survives a burger then it may as well be considered invincible. I bet that last line has really sold it to you, hasn't it?! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u><b>Dubonnet</b> | <i>Shade- Dark brick red | Finish- Amplified Creme </i></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Dubonnet was my go-to lipstick last winter, but since owning Diva I haven't used it half as much. Colour wise it's still one of my favourites, but as it's an Amplified Creme finish it does tend to need touching up more than a matte. This is slightly lighter than Diva, so to all of you considering braving a vampy shade this autumn, I'd recommend this. It still has that vampy element, just not as 'in your face'- which for somebody like myself that loves a 'look at me. Now.' lip, this just doesn't win as many brownie points!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u><b>D for Danger</b> | <i>Shade- Dark berry | Finish- Matte</i></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I thought that I'd save the very best until last, so here's the lipstick I consider 'cream of the crop'. D for Danger is the latest member of my MAC vampy lip club, and it's already made it's way firmly into first place, as the dark berry hue is the most flattering lipstick I own and makes my teeth appear super white (well, at least whiter than they actually are anyway). Like Diva, the staying powder scores a massive 10/10, making it the absolute dream autumn lip. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So there we have it, my top vampy lip picks for over the autumn/winter. Also, you can have a nosy at my entire MAC lippy collection, here. Go on, I know you want to!</div>

If you follow me over on instagram- <i>if you don't, then why not?! No, <b>I'm joking</b>, you're basically not missing out on much other than countless food snaps</i>- anyway, what I was going to say was you'll probably realise that I've been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather recently. I know, nice weather in June, <b>what</b> is this absolute madness?!<br>
<a name="more"></a>I've certainly made no secret of the fact that I just <u>LOVE</u> the summer and everything that comes along with it; sunbathing, boozy afternoons in a beer garden with a glass of wine in hand <i>(the hangover that comes along with it the very next day, now that I don't love quite as much)</i> BBQ's resulting in one huge food baby, and of course lazy afternoons in the park with a picnic...<br>
<br>
<i>...Yep, you've guessed it, if it involves sun, alcohol, and food, then count me the heck in.</i><br>
<br>
Which brings me onto today's blogpost as I <b>really</b> didn't want you to miss out on all of the summer fun and thought that it was only right that I shared my my guide to planning and throwing the ultimate summer evening. I'm definitely having a moment with party planning, please forgive me.<br>
<br>
Whether you're planning on a quiet afternoon complete with <b>allll</b> of the sandwiches and crisps in the park, or a rather boozy catch up and dance off in the garden with your closet gal pals- <u>I've got you covered.</u> So, without further ado- <i>soz about the worlds longest intro, I don't know when to shut up</i>- here's my guide to the ultimate summer from the sun worshipper herself, <b>enjoy...</b><br>
<br>
First up, you're going to want to plan what kind of afternoon/evening you want... do you want a slightly more relaxed one chilling with family, <b>or</b> do you fancy yourself as a bit of a cocktail connoisseur, who will no doubt be dancing around to 90's throwbacks approximately two hours after that first sip of wine? <u>.... guilty!</u><br>
<br>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I'll plan an event for both occasions, so just go ahead and choose accordingly!</i></div>
<br>
<br>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Chill out time for the one who wants to relax and unwind after a busy week;</b></div>
<br>
You've had a stressful week, you're exhausted and all that you want to do is relax, spend quality time with your family/friends and put your feet up ... there's only one thing for it; sunshine and food. <u>And lots of it.</u><br>
<br>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<b>Suggestion 1: A picnic in the park/besides a lake/your own garden if you aren't feeling very adventurous</b>- <i>aka the perfect family afternoon.</i><br>
<br>
Blanket laid out, <b>'<a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LSHL4OK/ref=s9_acsd_simh_hd_bw_b4giLN9_c_x_w?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=3Z84J0EFRHTY8Z0F8QBG&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=015ad7b9-6f22-54c4-9d83-6c88a4ee87fe&pf_rd_i=4295706031" rel="nofollow">Greenfield Oxford Willow Picnic Hamper</a>'<i> </i></b><i>(available from Amazon <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/b?node=13350939031" rel="nofollow">#NowItsSummer store</a>)</i> raring to go, drinks on ice <b>= tick</b>- now the only thing left on the list to sort out is the fresh fruit and crisps. Think wine, sarnies- <i>bought ready made on the way to the park if you're feeling a little lazy</i>, obvs- and camembert which, lets be honest doesn't <u>quite</u> live up to an entire cheeseboard, but hey, we'll roll with it.<br>
<br>
Any guesses as to why this particular hamper happens to be my favourite?! It holds four wine glasses and a bottle opener;) <i>duh</i>. So more the merrier when it comes to inviting people along.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhULacrC8ifaZRXZ4zRZTL2tAO6IbyK5_j8m-AnE397wiblT9frvkXZU97IlXzp7U42FipQOpsqg76aXObz2-mmfznbTCR9Xad1iJr-VcbLVw-Or6SC4V5WHnGCj9NyCq_hwG-zSYzK4Tci/s640/blogger-image-2123180622.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" id="id_a3eb_b0eb_6b79_83fd" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhULacrC8ifaZRXZ4zRZTL2tAO6IbyK5_j8m-AnE397wiblT9frvkXZU97IlXzp7U42FipQOpsqg76aXObz2-mmfznbTCR9Xad1iJr-VcbLVw-Or6SC4V5WHnGCj9NyCq_hwG-zSYzK4Tci/s640/blogger-image-2123180622.jpg" style="height: auto; width: 536px;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>An evening catered for the one who fancies letting their hair down; </b></div>
<b><br></b>
You aren't quite feeling a full on night 'out out' that consists of impatient waits for taxis, and fake eyelashes hanging off your chin by the end of the night, but you <i>definitely</i> don't plan on sitting in front of the tv with a cuppa either.<br>
<br>
So this calls for a girls night in, full of <i>allll</i> of the wine, cocktails and bad singing at 2am in the garden- don't you just <b>love</b> how wine gives you enough confidence to think that you maybe ought to apply for Xfactor, and start a dance career... <i>or maybe not.</i><br>
<br>
<b>Suggestion 1: A BBQ garden party</b>- <i>because well, burgers and cider in the garden at 10pm is always the answer.</i></div>
<div>
<i><br></i></div>
<div>
<i></i><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<i><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAI5iVhch7mhNHzTHiQPU7CDUTIDp0-pnVNw3pO0oDHhmBI8LWFGvOVjpd_2hTyEWxqyMj8TVb7fukUfhRoJ3psxx8qBukR3gRogpy7riO6JgOnc9MPHCXARW_uYzY8HYh-Q2TkLhAU61J/s640/blogger-image-1276262407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" id="id_6cbc_953b_e934_390c" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAI5iVhch7mhNHzTHiQPU7CDUTIDp0-pnVNw3pO0oDHhmBI8LWFGvOVjpd_2hTyEWxqyMj8TVb7fukUfhRoJ3psxx8qBukR3gRogpy7riO6JgOnc9MPHCXARW_uYzY8HYh-Q2TkLhAU61J/s640/blogger-image-1276262407.jpg" style="height: auto; width: 640px;"></a></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<i><br></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<i><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDozxmWBPDyvA0djjW9KRbebg9quh9DHCdHpTcxormI5fkIizjqyLa4rOlgi43s0HxePtpj7iDSW-jXIza7O31v3MoHmFJftX70wUuuJ1ovxzJbCFfMbb7mE6XJ4YW9JjW8lHOrYY4WfKs/s640/blogger-image--348603931.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" id="id_28b5_e879_a5fa_271e" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDozxmWBPDyvA0djjW9KRbebg9quh9DHCdHpTcxormI5fkIizjqyLa4rOlgi43s0HxePtpj7iDSW-jXIza7O31v3MoHmFJftX70wUuuJ1ovxzJbCFfMbb7mE6XJ4YW9JjW8lHOrYY4WfKs/s640/blogger-image--348603931.jpg" style="height: auto; width: 628px;"></a></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<br>
This is the perfect plan if you fancy having a drink... or three, because we all know that at least 80% of people just love burgers and a good old knees up in the garden, plus <b>all</b> of the best stories are told after a few cocktails have been consumed. Give me the chance to plan a huge BBQ, and you don't have to ask me twice. <u>Girl, I'm in.</u><br>
<br>
Light the BBQ, stock up on your favourite drinks, and if you really want something to impress your friends with definitely consider a quirky drinks cooler like the '<b><a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amscan-International-Inflatable-Tropical-Hawaiian/dp/B0026IJDTI/ref=sr_1_1?s=outdoors&ie=UTF8&qid=1499698599&sr=8-1&keywords=Inflatable+drinks+cooler" rel="nofollow">Amscan Inflatable Cooler Tropical Palm Hawaiian</a></b>' <i>(again available from Amazon #NowItsSummer range).</i><br>
<br>
Oh, and if you're a fan of throwing parties like myself, I'd suggest setting up all of the food/drinks out on the side so that you can all get stuck in buffet style. <b>PS</b>: BBQ's make for the best instagram snaps... <i>just saying.</i><br>
<br>

Take all of my favourite things in life and throw them together, and what do you get? Wait for it... One massive cake complete with Cadbury's chocolate fingers, and a mountain of chocolate coated strawberries on top- I mean, what else did you expect from a <i>huge</i> chocoholic? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This cake recipe is simply too good <b>not</b> to share, and plus we all have that one friend that's a bit of a chocolate enthusiast, <i>right?</i> Oh, and if you haven't then it's most definitely you that's the guilty one! So, if you'd like to gain some extra BFF points- <i>or simply scoff a full cake to yourself</i>- then you should consider whisking up this devilish delight... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>The ingredients you'll need; </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Chocolate cake: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•130g butter</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•250g caster sugar</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•3 eggs, beaten </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•225g plain flour</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•1 tsp bicarbonate of soda </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•50g cocoa powder</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•250ml buttermilk </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><br></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Buttercream:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•185g icing sugar, sifted </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•125g butter or margarine</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•50g dark chocolate </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Decoration: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•4 boxes of Cadbury's chocolate fingers (2 milk, 2 white) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•Dr Oetker milk and white chocolate </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
•Strawberries </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2tEhNLZtikS7JHkJYpBSBY_xzZKlNDmJJ4AOmJ35-FKPzlwkRW85XoillTKqPEfZhwUktQLpDA_k-UDDJaQySyQ-_gZQkMMmZWiSdsCW_EkjshIvJx9p7v4Wi4kr4yo-KWN6FTlYpJq-h/s640/blogger-image-445063695.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Method: </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Chocolate cake: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1.) Before you get started you'll want to preheat the oven to 180 C/Gas 4, and grease and line two shallow cake tins with baking parchment. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2.) Now you're ready to go; In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3.) Gradually beat in the eggs. Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda and cocoa over in batches, and beat well to combine. Then finish with a splash of buttermilk and mix well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4.) Then spoon the mixture into your prepared tins- Blue Peter 'here's one I made earlier' or what?!- and bake for 30-35 minutes. Now here's the best part, you can now lick the bowl, leftover cake mixture is the nicest, right?! Oh, and don't forget to leave your cakes to cool before decorating, melted buttercream is not the one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Prep your decorations: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1.) To create the chocolate strawberries go ahead and dunk them into a bowl of melted white chocolate, and then to finish drizzle with milk chocolate. I use a fork to drizzle the chocolate, but if you'd like a neater finish you could always use a piping bag. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2.) Next up is the chocolate fingers. You simply want to drizzle your milk chocolate over the white Cadbury's fingers- and vice versa- using the same technique as before. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqp5NjfLOeblxr83E0GQbaO8f347vFzKRWGdvHL1JhMnIfyPUXx3mPdVF72cWtCD0zjKZNicFBo3JmCSJ5peiiVQHG2GpSXG7Xi404bD85fU0zsA0xova-P5ss1CDn1j4H_CUoQF9Vd8BT/s640/blogger-image-1830846437.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Buttercream: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1.) Whisk 125g worth of butter with a whisk for 5-10 minutes so it's extra fluffy and then sift 185g worth of icing sugar into the same bowl. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2.) Combine the icing sugar and butter, and whisk for a further 5 minutes. Tip: pop the finished buttercream into the fridge to set as it makes for neater piping. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3.) To pipe the buttercream roses around the outside of the cake, you'll need a piping bag complete with a Wilton 2D nozzle. To create that rose effect you will need to use this nozzle in particular! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Decoration: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1.) Simply alternate the milk and white chocolate fingers until you've covered the entire cake, and then stack your chocolate strawberries on top- you can of course decorate your cake however you wish. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you all like the recipe, will you be attempting it? Oh, and a lot of people have asked me to do a post full of baking tips, so if you happen to have anything you need help with, then please let me know in the comments below. </div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Method: </i></div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Cupcakes:</b></div>
<div>
1.) Before you get started you'll want to pre-heat the oven to <b>190c/Gas 5</b>, and set your teacup cupcake cases ready for the mixture. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<i>*Psst, if you want to be a copy cat, you'll want to dash out to Wilkinson's especially for a box of teacup cases- preferably before you pre-heat the oven mind. </i></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2.) Are you back from Wilkinson's yet? Yes? Then you're ready to get started. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3.) The next task is to gradually beat in the eggs. Sift the flour and baking powder over in batches, and beat well to combine. And then finish by adding the espresso powder, cinnamon, pumpkin purée, nutmeg and ground cloves. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4.) Then carefully spoon the mixture into your prepared cases- <i>you'll be feeling like you should maybe be on blue peter with your 'I'm so organised' ways</i>- and bake for 25 minutes. Oh, and screw what the food tech teacher used to tell you, just go ahead and lick the bowl like you're a five year old all over again. <i>Ahh, nostalgia. </i></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Buttercream: </b></div>
<div>
1.) Whisk 165g worth of butter with a whisk for 5-10 minutes so it's extra fluffy and then sift 225g worth of icing sugar into the same bowl. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2.) Combine the icing sugar and butter, and whisk for a further 5 minutes. <b>PS</b>- don't forget to pop the finished buttercream into the fridge to set as it makes for neater piping. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3.) To mimic my cupcakes completely you'll want to use a piping bag, complete with a Wilton 2D nozzle to pipe your buttercream. <b>Rule #5 in the baking world; never attempt to pipe buttercream onto warm cupcakes, the result... A disastrous mess. </b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4.) Then finish with a sprinkling of cinnamon, your handmade fondant pumpkin and a scatter of fondant leaves to give your cupcakes a real autumnal feel. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And violà, your very own pumpkin spice latte cupcakes- will you be trying them out? </div>
