Hello 2016 | The things I'd absolutely love to achieve this year


I'm not about that 'new year, new me' motto every time January rolls around, nor do I make resolutions. But goals, those I am about.

Typical resolutions such as 'I'm not going to eat chocolate anymore', or 'I'm going to hit the gym five times a week as of January' aren't going to materialise in my world, let's be honest here. The all you can eat buffet at Pizza Hut, and on offer Ben & Jerry's bring too much joy to my life to pack them in. 

So that's where goals come in, because those I know I can do.

I mean, I did aim to have this up for the 1st of January, but I've been a little preoccupied with shopping, and lunching out, so this post may be a little out of date now. 

Nevertheless, here's me kick starting my 2016 with the ever so typical 'I want to eat healthier' goal, I will allow you to roll your eyes just this once... 

1.) Eat healthier, and be more adventurous with new food...

...Aka cut the crap, and stop sneaking off into the kitchen at 8pm to eat Nutella out of the jar with a spoon, and then moan that I feel fat for the next hour. 

At the start of last year I was actually really good with what I ate, well, for me anyway. Don't get me wrong I was no clean eating goddess, like, regular trips to Harvester were still a thing, I'd just eat healthy for all of the next week to make up for it. 

Now it's more like 'shall we order a Domino's tonight, and then pig out on McDonald's tomorrow?', and that desperately needs to change, if only for the sake of fitting into last years bikini. 

2.) Pass my driving test

2015 was the year that finally seen me start driving lessons... after what felt like a lifetime of waiting as I was too unwell to start up until then. 

I'd say passing my test is the biggest goal of them all for this year, it'd make life so much easier, and would be a huge achievement considering I don't always find it easy when feeling unwell. 

But hey, we'll see, typical woman driver and all that. I'll most definitely be part of the 'park 5 miles away from the supermarket so you can get away with parking wonky' crew. 


3.) Up my blogging game 

Now don't get me wrong, I love blogging, absolutely adore it in fact. There really is nothing better than sitting down with a cuppa- or in my case; cozying up like a cocoon in bed- and writing about anything you please; wether that be lipsticks, or all things life. 

But, and this is a big but, I also really enjoy lounging on the sofa watching Loose Women, doing nothing other than letting my inner fifty year old shine through when I'm getting too engrossed in their daily debates. 

So do you see my problem? I'm in limbo; one half of me is excited to share what I've been up to with you all, and the other half? Well, the other half just wants to be lazy.

However, from here on in, I've vowed to change, Loose Women will now be taking a back seat- there's catch-up after all, hey?!- and blogging will be my main priority. The absolute dream would be to make a career out of blogging after all- although that's most definitely just a dream as I can't see that happening for me. But hey, who knows?! 

Mission write more blogposts, GO, GO, GO! 


4.) Stop ignoring my body and relax when I need to

At the moment I've developed the 'I will achieve everything I've set out to do, regardless of wether I have enough energy to do so' attitude, and well, it doesn't bode well with my temperamental body. 

Burning out before 12pm, and then wanting to have a little major breakdown on the sofa because I've made yourself feel ill for the day, by taking on too much isn't fun. 

So, this year I'm going to take a new approach and find the right balance between productivity, and rest... no matter how bloody much I want to get every single thing on my to-do list done. 

 Well that's me done with the goals for the day- rather short and sweet, I know- have you set yourself any to achieve this year, if so, what? I'm extremely nosy, so please do tell...
